Day 1
Antananarivo / Perinet Reserve - Depart from Antananarivo, capital of Madagascar, and proceed to Perinet Reserve, habitat of the largest of lemurs, the Indri indri. Meals and overnight in attractive bungalows of Vakona Forest Lodge.
Day 2 / 3
Perinet / Tamatave / Maroantsetra - Morning to spend in the reserve of Perinet, with early start to see the Indri and hear their "singing" call. Afternoon departure for the spectacular 6 hour drive from altitude rain forest to coastal lowlands of Tamatave with overnight stay at Hotel Neptune. Visit to the zoo of Duke Primate Center before flight to Maroantsetra, gateway to the last track of virgin rain forest in Madagascar. Afternoon boat ride in this pristine paradise, meals and overnight at Relais du Masoala.
Day 4
Maroantsetra / excursion Nosy Mangabe - Arrive by boat on the island of Nosy Mangabe, a natural reserve and santuary for the world's rarest lemur--the Aye Aye.
Picnic lunch and return for overnight at the Relais; next day visit to the market and return to the capital.
Day 5
Antananarivo - Day in the capital to visit the small but diverse zoo at the Croc Farm including lunch and shopping at the artisans market. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Colbert
Day 6
Antananarivo / Ft. Dauphin / excursion Berenty Reserve - Arrival in Ft. Dauphin, city tour and lunch at the Miramar overlooking to ocean. Continue on to Berenty, pleasuring
in the drive which traverses one of the most remarkable vegetation transitions in the world, from Eastern rain forest to the spiny desert. Meals and lodging at Gite d'Etape.
Day 7
Berenty Reserve - Full day to spend in the reserve, noted for its ring-tailed lemurs
and sifakas, bird species and multiple diversity of wildlife. Meals and lodging at Gite d'Etape.
Day 8
Berenty/Ft. Dauphin/Antananarivo - Morning departure for Ft. Dauphin, arriving in time for flight to Antananarivo. Overnight at the Colbert and transfer to airport for departure.

Average price is $275 - $425 per day all inclusive

- excursions, entrance fees and local guides in parks and reserves

- gratuities (a small tip at time of service is customary)

- personal items such as telephone, fax, laundry, etc.
